Designed in their Vermont studio, each item they make is crafted slowly and with a commitment to the skill it takes to make something truly beautiful. Farmhouse Pottery is led by founder James Zillian and includes over 40 craftspeople, many of whom are working directly in their Woodstock headquarters. A lifelong student, James Zillian’s love of ceramics began in a high school arts class. Over years of studying, residency and working, he honed his craft, developing an aesthetic that blends locally-inspired Vermont design with old English pottery and Wabi Sabi philosophy.
