Our relationship with Finca El Puente, which has spanned two decades, is rooted in a shared commitment to quality and a belief that remarkable coffees should be accessible to more people. This year, we sourced a small amount of their Gesha, an iconic variety that Moisés and Marysabel were the first to cultivate in Honduras. Thanks to their partnership and dedication, we can share it at an accessible price, giving the wider coffee community a taste of their vision and what makes Finca El Puente so special. Look for floral aromatics, crisp green apple brightness, and a smooth chocolate sweetness in the cup. Finca El Puente is owned by fourth-generation coffee farmer Marysabel Caballero and her husband, Moisés Herrera. Raised in Guatemala and trained as an accountant, Moisés moved to Honduras in the 1990s to manage the operations of a coffee company. He met and married Marysabel, and together they established Finca El Puente. From the start, Marysabel and Moisés have built their farm on curiosity and care—experimenting with new varieties, improving their processes year after year, and investing in the people who make it all possible. They’re known for their innovative approach to cultivation and commitment to their community, offering year-round employment, worker housing, and support for local schools. The Gesha variety traces its origins to Ethiopia. In 2004, Gesha captured the world’s attention at auction in Panama. The high prices paid for those Panamanian Geshas sparked a spread of the variety’s cultivation throughout Central and South America. Marysabel and Moisés were the first producers in Honduras to cultivate Gesha. This year, we’re excited to share a small lot of their Gesha with you, which is made possible through our long-standing partnership and their dedication to making remarkable coffees accessible.
